Things to see and do in Kathmandu

There are many temples to visit from any of the hotels in Nepal. Some of these are right in Kathmandu itself. A temple of unknown date is the Seto Machhendranath Temple. It was restored during the 1600’s and is near Asan Tole. It is important to Buddhists and Hindus and its arched entrance is watched by two lions made of metal with a small Buddha in front.

Another temple, Taleju, is not open to the public but stands in all its majesty more than 35 metres high. Taleju was a goddess and temples to her are also in Bhaktapur and Patan. This temple was built in 1564.

If you are staying in hotels in Nepal and have chosen the Kathmandu Guest House as your base you are very near to the Garden of Dreams which is also located in the Thamel area of Kathmandu. This garden has been restored and is a relaxing and peaceful place to visit. It is called the Swapna Bagaicha and is well worth a visit while holidaying in Kathmandu and Nepal.

There are so many things to see in Kathmandu and the Kathmandu Guest House makes a great base during your exploration of this wonderful town.
